Why Personal Injury Attorney Steven DeYoung Is Different

Personal Injury Attorney Steven DeYoung is a Yarmouth native. He is still in the Hyannis law office he founded over 30 years ago. Attorney DeYoung has created a legacy in law that he now shares with five colleagues to make up the firm of Carter DeYoung, formerly Wilkins, DeYoung & Carter.

This general practice grew into one of the biggest law firms on the Cape. Steven DeYoung cultivated a synergistic team that has extensive experience in all courts and areas of law, laser expertise and talent taking cases to trial (litigation). They possess a unified belief that they’re here to serve as advocates for each and every client individually and the community at large, as well as mentors to colleagues and peers.

Expert Team

In addition to Personal Injury, the Carter DeYoung team handles divorce, family law and domestic relations.  They also focus on civil litigation, criminal defense, immigration and bankruptcy. Included are wills, trusts and estate planning and tax law issues. Seven lawyers form this general practice to serve clients’ every need.

Why Lawyers Make A Difference

Steven DeYoung states, “Many people are under the mistaken belief that they are only entitled to receive compensation for their medical expenses and lost wages when they are usually entitled to a significantly greater recovery. However, lawyers pursuing recovery for clients are not magicians; they are only able to assist in assuring that the client receives fair compensation based upon the nature and extent of the client’s injuries. Compensation is intended to make a client whole, not to make him/her wealthy.”

Recent Personal Injury Verdicts and Settlements

Drunk Driver (DUI/OUI): $1,000,000 plus recovery for injured party and substantial judgment for husband and child of injured party.

Car Crashes with Motorcycle : $750,000.00 jury verdict.

Multi-car accident: $320,000.00 case settled.
